Anna Wright grew up in Dumfriesshire and now lives in Edinburgh where she works as a full-time artist exhibiting her artwork across the country and illustrating children's books.

Born in 1984, Anna graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2006 with a degree in illustration.  Her career started working for the fashion designer Katherine Hooker, until she became a full-time artist in 2008, and her interest in materials and costumes continues to resonate through her artwork.  Combining illustration with feathers, fabrics and ribbons, Anna creates a colourful mix of collage and draftsmanship mixed with a catching sense of humour. 

Growing up in the countryside Anna describes nature and her surroundings as having always been a source of ‘amusement and intrigue’ and this is conveyed beautifully in her artwork.  Behind this great sense of fun lies a striking ability and expertise where ‘colours, pattern and detail come together’ to create such skillfully presented characters and exceptional artwork.

Anna Wright regularly exhibits her artwork including most recently in London at the 20/21 International Art Fair at the Royal College of Art in 2009.
