Born in 1978, Tom Hoar is rapidly making a
name for himself as a refreshingly talented, up and coming young
British artist.
Equally impressive in both watercolour and
oil, Tom has successfully exhibited both in London and the West
Country where he grew up in Devon. Recently his work was
selected for the fourth consecutive year at the Royal Society of
British Portrait Painters and he participated in the 21st Century Watercolour Exhibition
at the Bankside Gallery, London with the Royal Watercolour
Society.
Tom has a BA Honours degree in History and History of Art from
Oxford Brookes University and has recently attended life drawing
classes at the Royal Academy with the Chelsea Arts Club.
Ultimately though he credits his artistic training to his family
background. Son of an artist and grandson of an architect,
Tom has a natural artistic flair and striking ability. Painting
all his life under the encouragement of his father, a
professional artist and successful watercolourist, Tom’s work demonstrates a
natural talent unconstrained by formal training.
Tom undertakes watercolour and oil commissions and is
consequently in ever increasing demand to paint commissions from
portraits to private houses. |
